Sea Kayaking Discussion

Major repair needed on fiberglass sea kayak
Therese McRae
Hello -- can anyone tell me where to get a major repair done on a fiberglass sea kayak? A friend had one wash up under her dock on Lake Wa. It has a great gaping hole in the bow from having been banging around in the lake for months after washing off the owner's dock. She located the owner and he isn't interested in getting it back, so now she's wanting to get a repair done. The piece on the bow that broke off was still hanging by a thread, so she has it, and I don't think the repair would be too difficult for a knowledgeable person. West Marine doesn't repair kayaks. Can anyone help? Thanks much!

There aren’t many options. Kayaker Go Coastal is who I use regularly as well as most other around here, or we do it ourselves. Rhonda Schwab is located in Tacoma, does a great job, and is a WKC member. kayakersgocoastal@comcast.net
