Guemes Island Circumnavigation

NOTE:  This trip has been moved back Sunday due to high winds predicted for Saturday.   You must register first.

Come explore this exceedingly beautiful corner of the San Juans with me.  Soak in expansive views to Cypress, Vendovi, Lummi, Sinclair, Orcas, the Cascades.

We will launch from Young's park on N Guemes, ride a big ebb through Bellingham Channel, swing past the majestic Cone Islands, lunch and stroll at Cypress Head, visit monolithic Hat and stop for more views on Saddlebag Island.

Total distance to be covered is about 16 nm with current ride.

The trip is designed to extend the experience of flat water paddlers, introducing the effects of currents.  This is also a chance to develop your ability to cover a moderate distance over the course of a day at a leisurely pace.  We will cross Bellingham channel back and forth over to Cypress.  The trip will run only under benign weather conditions (winds <15 knots).

The trip plan includes a visit the Rockfish afterwards, to rinse the salt from our lips.
