Adult CPR and Basic First Aid:
WKC is excited to offer its members a custom CPR/FA course this year.
Our course will offer a blended method of delivery consisting of:
Also, while AED testing is required for certification, our instructor, Jan Barara, life guard instructor trainer, will modify her CPR/FA class to consider our
- On-line learning and exams done at the student's own pace. Completion required no later than 1 week prior to hands-on class and testing. The on-line session is estimated to take the student approx. 3 hours
- In-person skill session will be approx. 2 hours
wilderness setting scenarios, along river banks or on shore at sea.
Class will cover:
***Adult CPR, with minimal required AED exposure
***Basic First Aid
***Training will also include managing drowning victims.
Learn how to assess for drowning victim, when to deliver rescue breathes and learn when not to deliver chest compressions.
***Students will receive electronic certification cards and a an electronic student handbook. Students will have free access to replacement card.
This course is FREE for any WKC member who leads a whitewater trip in the class II or II+ range -OR- a sea kayaking trip, in 2018. You will be reimbursed the full amount after you lead your trip. The whitewater trips chair and the sea kayaking trips chair will be your contact for reimbursement.
Class size is limited to 10 people.
$50-$70 if you don't want to lead a trip - the price will depend on if we fill the class
