Deschutes River - Whitewater Kayak Self-Support Trip

We will be running the Deschutes River from Trout Creek to Sherars Falls as a self-supported whitewater kayaking trip.  If you have never done a self-supported trip out of your kayak, you will need to attend our self-support primer on 6/9/18.  Unfortunately, if you do not meet these requirements we will not be able to accommodate you on this trip.

The Deschutes section we are doing is a usually class III at normal flows and is 44 miles long.  There is one class III+ (unable to portage) and one class IV (can be portaged, but remember you'll have a fully loaded boat).  You are expected to have a river roll with a 50% success rate in the river and feel comfortable paddling 15 miles each day and maneuvering a fully loaded self-support kayak

Fees are: $6 group reservation fee and $18 per person.  We will be purchasing the permits on 6/26, however, if you sign up after this time frame, you will need to secure your own permit (from what I understand, it sounds easy just to show up and get one on the spot before we launch), but you will need to check into those details if you sign up after the 26th.

If you have any questions about the river, please contact
