 The WKC runs this course once a year, usually in March before the snow melts and the spring rains.  If you are interested in next years class, we try to post the dates in December.  This class always fills up so plan early and get registered - don't wait!
The WKC is all volunteer and non-profit, any income benefits our members and our community.

If you have been thinking about learning to Whitewater Kayak - Now is the time!  This course is designed for the person with no prior boating experience.  You will learn basic paddle and bracing strokes, how to roll a kayak, river hydrology, and safety, all in a relaxed and friendly environment from certified instructors.



2015 Schedule:
The class combines 7 sessions of classroom, pool, and lake/river instruction, held in the South Seattle area and on nearby rivers.

Cost:

$250 for WKC members

WKC (Washington Kayak Club) membership required; WKC membership provides on-water trips and discounted pool sessions throughout the life of your membership ($35 annual individual membership or $40 annual family membership).
 
Requirements:
  • Students need to supply their own equipment.  Two rental options for our students - If needing rental gear, don't delay!  Limited stock on hand and each company is offering different packages.  For details click on the following:  
  • Required equipment below is needed by first day of course.
  • The course is a significant time commitment and participation in all sessions are required to continue in the course unless otherwise noted.
  • Meet the WKC Essential Eligibility Criteria outlined.
  • Access to the internet for PDF reading assignments and online video viewing.
